Womenpreneur and Axians Belgium aim to guide more women into cybersecurity through a new training and employment programme. Through this nine-month programme, the partners are responding to the growing need for qualified profiles in digital security while also broadening access to careers in technology.
Two participants to join Axians Belgium on a permanent basis after completing the programme
Axians, the ICT brand of VINCI Energies, operates at the heart of digital transformation. The demand for cybersecurity profiles continues to grow, while employers are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit suitable talent. At the same time, the inflow of women into technological and digital roles remains limited. Through this initiative, Womenpreneur and Axians Belgium aim to bring concrete change. By training women for a future-oriented sector with strong employment prospects, the partnership seeks to contribute both to greater inclusion and to addressing the structural shortage of cybersecurity profiles in Belgium.
Professional employability
The programme targets ten motivated women who are looking to retrain or further specialize in cybersecurity. All of them consciously choose a career in a strategic field, but do not always have straightforward access to technological roles or specialized training. Participants develop skills in operational security, infrastructure protection, risk analysis and management, and incident response, from detection and reaction to remediation. In May, they begin a three-month internship, applying their knowledge in a real professional environment while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Inclusion and digital resilience
“Thanks to a combination of intensive training and practical experience, participants increase their chances of sustainable employment in cybersecurity. At Axians, we support this programme through our vision of inclusion, talent development, and social responsibility. At the same time, we are calling on other companies to help support the initiative, for example by offering internships or a first job opportunity in areas such as governance, risk, and compliance. In this way, this programme can not only prepare new talent, but also strengthen the Belgian cybersecurity ecosystem,” says Wilfried Houtput, Business Unit General Manager at Axians Belgium.
“I was truly struck by the motivation, enthusiasm and gratitude of the participants. Talent development and diversity of profiles are essential levers to support digital transformation and the evolution of technological professions, including cybersecurity. The programme forms part of a multi-year partnership with Womenpreneur, with whom we share the ambition to create meaningful and impactful opportunities,” adds Luc Clabout, CEO of VINCI Energies Belgium Industry, Infra & ICT.
The collaboration goes beyond training and practical experience and already leads to concrete recruitment outcomes. Two participants are set to join Axians Belgium after completing the programme, which creates new opportunities for female talent while addressing the shortage of qualified cybersecurity profiles.
