In a hospital environment, knowledge must always be readily available. Yet in a setting with changing shifts, new employees, and increasingly specialized equipment, keeping that knowledge up to date and easily accessible for large groups of users is no simple task.

For Hospidex Innomediq, a specialist in high-tech medical equipment for, among others, critical care departments, knowledge sharing is an integral part of its services. In addition to medical technology, the company supports hospitals with training, instructions, and technical guidance. However, the team noticed that the traditional approach was reaching its limits.

From platform management to supporting healthcare professionals

“A large part of our time was spent assisting users who wanted access to training courses. Accounts had to be created, passwords were forgotten, and users did not always know how to navigate the platform,” says Hilde Libbrecht, Clinical Application Coordinator at Hospidex Innomediq.

The existing e-learning platform required extensive administration and support. Yet Hospidex Innomediq wanted to focus on what truly matters: giving healthcare professionals access to the right knowledge when they need it.

Bringing knowledge closer to the point of care

To address this challenge, Hospidex Innomediq set out to find a more user-friendly alternative. They found the solution in Axele on-the-job, a digital knowledge and training platform developed by Axians.

Using QR codes and links, organizations can provide training materials, manuals, instructions, and additional information directly to users, without the need for accounts or complex login procedures.

Today, the platform is used in two complementary ways: as an extension of training sessions and as practical support alongside medical equipment.

A digital extension of training

Whenever Hospidex Innomediq implements a new medical solution in a hospital, healthcare professionals receive training on how to use it. In practice, however, not everyone can attend at the same time, and there is often a need for refresher training later on.

With Axele on-the-job, the training content remains available long after the session has ended. Through a QR code or link, employees can access the information whenever they need it.

“In a way, we leave a digital version of our trainer behind in the hospital. Healthcare professionals can revisit the content whenever and wherever they need it,” Hilde explains.

As a result, valuable knowledge is never lost, and expertise remains accessible to everyone who works with the technology.

The essence of our Axele on-the-job software is simple: making knowledge available where and when it is needed. This not only makes information more accessible, but also ensures it is better aligned with day-to-day practice.

Information directly at the device

In addition to training, Hospidex Innomediq is increasingly using the platform in and around medical equipment.

Through a QR code, healthcare professionals can instantly access relevant information, such as user manuals, instructional videos, procedures, practical tips, and answers to frequently asked questions.

When questions arise, they no longer need to search for documentation. The information is available directly on or next to the device, providing immediate access in the right context.

“The essence of Axele on-the-job is simple: making knowledge available where and when it is needed. This not only makes information more accessible, but also ensures it is better aligned with day-to-day practice,” explains Jef De Clerck, Sales Engineer at Axians Belgium.

Responding quickly to hospitals’ needs

Another key benefit of Axele on-the-job is the simplicity with which knowledge can be managed. When a hospital requires additional information or specific instructions regarding a device or procedure, Hospidex Innomediq can respond quickly and flexibly.

As a result, information remains both up to date and easily accessible, without additional administrative work or complex processes. This ease of use enables organizations to respond rapidly to questions from the field and keep knowledge continuously updated.

There is always someone at Axians who takes the time to think along with you. It often feels as though we are working with a colleague rather than a software vendor.

Axians’ software solution has had a clear impact on the day-to-day operations of Hospidex Innomediq. User account management has been eliminated entirely, and login-related questions are now a thing of the past.

“The biggest change is that we receive far fewer questions about access and platform use. This allows us to focus more on what really matters: sharing knowledge and supporting hospitals.”

Building the future of knowledge sharing together

What started as a training solution has since evolved into a broader platform for knowledge sharing and support.

Today, Hospidex Innomediq is exploring how Axele on-the-job can also be further deployed by its service department. At the same time, the platform continues to evolve with new capabilities such as certification, knowledge validation, and training follow-up.

“What we really appreciate is that there is always someone we can turn to. Whether it’s a question, a new idea, or a potential use case, there is always someone at Axians who takes the time to think along with us. It often feels more like working with a colleague than with a software vendor,” concludes Hilde.

For Hospidex Innomediq, the ultimate goal remains unchanged: providing healthcare professionals with fast access to the right knowledge, exactly when support can make the greatest difference.
